In quite the runaway, L'Avventura, the film that made Antonioni an internationally known name, won with a total of 73 points - becoming only the second film in Top 5 Project history to appear on every single list (Citizen Kane named as best first film is the other). In second place was L'Eclisse, ultimately losing by 17 points but still garnering the lion's share of first place votes, topping seven lists as opposed to L'Avventura's three number ones. Following these two films was a real battle for the rest of the top 5, with The Passenger eeking out third place with 37 points, followed by Blow-Up with 34 and La Notte, the follow-up to L'Avventura, with 31. Just missing the top 5 was the maestro's Red Desert, garnering 25 points.
